FCB Executive Committee Meeting Minutes October 1, 2024

President Mikey Wiseman called the meeting to order on October 1, 2024 at 7:03 PM. Present were President Mikey Wiseman; 1st Vice President, Cassandra Jessie; 2nd Vice President, Shelley Sawyer; Recording Secretary, Elizabeth Bowden; Treasurer, Mark Lear; and Immediate Past President, Sheila Young.  Administrative Assistant Kati Lear joined the meeting as a guest.  

Secretary’s report:  Sheila Young motioned and Sally Bejamin seconded minutes with one correction to  minutes from August 6.  Mary Tyson has a new email address maryt5558@gmail.com    

Old Business:  The Miami Beach chapter has contacted the President once Since our last meeting with them.  Sheila Young motioned that dissolution take place as originally stated.  The motion was seconded by Shelley Sawyer and passed unanimously.  Mikey will contact the chapter to let them know that dissolution will take place as planned.    

New Business:  Mikey thanked Kati for organizing committee meetings in to list form.  Mikey will be working on having committee chairs find new members in hopes that new chairs will be found for the future.  

Cassandra has submitted a proposal for herself, Elizabeth Bowden, and Sally Benjamin to attend the White cane ball in Jacksonville.  All executive committee members approved use of funds from the treasury in the amount of approximately $550.00 for that purpose.  Mark will send money to Gloria Simmons in Jacksonville today to cover ticket costs.  

Mikey reminded us about the game day with the Activities Committee on Sunday, November 17.  All of us have responded to the inquiry.  

Mikey reminded members that Kati Lear will be working many hours in the month of October.  Kati stated that she may work at least 15 hours over her usual time allotted.   Cassandra Jessie motioned that Kati should be able to work out any extra time during the holidays.  The motion was unopposed.  

An ad hoc committee was formed during the committee chairs meeting to discuss voting during the virtual board meeting.  Members are: Sheila Young, Cassandra Jessie, Doug Hall, and Paul Edwards .    

There was a motion by Cassandra Jessie to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Shelley Sawyer. Meeting was adjourned at 08:02 pm.
